The Australian Defence Force recruits dozens of military hopefuls to fill in positions in the Army, the Navy and the Air Force. Though recruits may expect to train and get ready for war or battle, there are other tasks and job positions available in the ADF.
Recruits in aviation can expect to fill different job posts such as aerospace engineer officers in the fields of aeronautics, electronics and weaponry. Recruits who have successfully passed officership tests and training are often tasked with installing, repairing and developing air craft parts. Recruits who have engineering backgrounds coupled with exemplary knowledge in aeronautics can excel in job positions such as aeronautics and aviation technicians in the Air Force. After completing the required training recruits can also move on to become air traffic controllers, air combat officers and crew attendants. The Air Force can also place recruits in security and defence positions.
After proper training, recruits can also find employment within the ranks of the Navy. Navy jobs ranging from logistics to combat and security are available for recruits. In the combat sector, recruits can expect to fill navy job positions such as sailors, divers and weapons specialists. Recruits can be drafted into positions that not only entail physical fitness but also aptitude in operating the various equipment used in the Navy. Recruits training to be naval and clearance divers must be able to perform certain tasks underwater such as mine clearing, repairing battle damage, providing support to other tactical operations and provide additional assistance in rescue or salvage missions. Recruits who have undergone officership training can also get into higher rank positions in the Navy. Officer jobs such as navy pilots, navy observer and intelligence officer posts in the navy are available for recruits who aspire for more.
The Army is also a place where recruits can go into after completing training and tests. Recruits fresh from training can look into the different kinds of soldier jobs in the combat and security division. Positions such as gunners, commandos, combat engineers, military police and light cavalry scouts are just a few of the soldier jobs recruits can get into. Though an element of danger surrounds this profession, the excitement and chance to develop one's self drives many recruits to pursuing a career in the Army. Higher ranks and positions can also be achieved by recruits after they've gained experience, displayed aptitude and leadership skills and successfully completed their training and tests.
